The Ultimate Guide to Mountain Biking Bright

Bright has cemented itself as one of Australia's top mountain biking destinations, and for good reason. With Mystic Mountain right on our doorstep at Camp Crusty, we're perfectly positioned to help you make the most of the trails.

The Mystic trail network offers over 40 kilometres of purpose-built singletrack. Beginners should start with the River Run and Blue Rag trails — smooth, flowing singletrack that winds through eucalyptus forest with gentle gradients. Intermediate riders will love the Mystic Descent, a long flowing trail that drops from the summit to town. Advanced riders can challenge themselves on trails like Hellfire and Megamix, where rock gardens and steep chutes keep things interesting.

If you're after something flatter, the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail is a sealed path that connects Bright to surrounding towns. It's perfect for a casual morning ride to Porepunkah for coffee, or a full-day adventure to Beechworth. Bikes can be hired from several operators on the main street of Bright.

At Camp Crusty, we've built a dedicated bike wash station and secure overnight storage so you can ride hard and rest easy. Ask at reception for our trail map and current conditions — we ride them ourselves so we always know what's running well.
